After 5 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Herrera. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Lautaro Blanco got a free kick in the 10th minute. Delmar Orti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Haydar Uçkun in the 11th minute of the match. After 13 minutes of play, SOLO TÜRK's Bulut Bulutelli made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Delmar Orti was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bulut Bulutelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Delmar Orti made a huge save. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Aaron Anselmino hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Xabi Alonso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Delmar Orti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of SOLO TÜRK booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Anselmino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delmar Orti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bulut Bulutelli's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Bulut Bulutelli did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Delmar Orti 30 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Ariel Urbasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ali Haydar Uçkun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Delmar Orti made a huge save. Temel Sazak hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. İdris Mahsun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmar Orti having to interfere. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Francisco Gabino replaced Apolo Herrera.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blas-Armando Giunta to strike the kick off in the second half. If Necdet Bedi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
