Chrisostomos Benakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Laércio da Silva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aris Skaboulis went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Allan Lopes hit a great ball. Allan Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allan Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF's Allan Lopes got a free kick in the 14th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Aris Skaboulis came free, but Laércio da Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Laércio da Silva made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Giannis Kadoglou sent off a good shot on target. Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF's Laércio da Silva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute, Giannis Kadoglou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute, Aris Skaboulis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Laércio da Silva. The goal made the score 3-0. Rubinho Terra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Chrisostomos Benakis. PAOK FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Chrisostomos Benakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Lopes in the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Eustratios Zouvelekis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute of the match Magno Maia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chrisostomos Benakis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Giannis Kadoglou managed to get in a good position for a shot. PAOK FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giannis Kadoglou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giannis Kadoglou stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Laércio da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giannis Kadoglou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF defense, Aris Skaboulis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laércio da Silva. The Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laércio da Silva should have stopped the shot. After 57 minutes of play, PAOK FC's Lakis Vernikos made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laércio da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to PAOK FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Aris Skaboulis hit a great ball. Lakis Vernikos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aris Skaboulis in the 81st minute of play forced Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF's goalkeeper Laércio da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Palmas Sport Club - FDFDF's zone, Aris Skaboulis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laércio da Silva came out of the goal and Aris Skaboulis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, PAOK FC's Apostolis Frantzeskos got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 96th minute of the match Magno Maia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Chrisostomos Benakis skillfully saved the ball. PAOK FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
