The audience was convinced that Carlos Fernando Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delmar Dodorol was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. The supporters of Merusca F&P booed when Ruquense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Argider didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Carlos Fernando Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merusca F&P's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Fernando Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Dodorol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The tension between the Ruquense FC and the Merusca F&P players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ruquense FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Teofilo Noe hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Edmílson Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Edmílson Vidal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Delmar Dodorol. That made the score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teofilo Noe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes of play, Merusca F&P's Edmílson Vidal made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Delmar Dodorol was left in no man's land by his defense there! Claudinho Bezerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delmar Dodorol having to interfere. After 93 played minutes Merusca F&P got a freekick which was hit by Artur Abreu. Ruquense FC's Aquilino Garci got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
