Santoryu FC's Ercole Carnevale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Santoryu FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Newells Old Boys's zone, Elia Strano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yalçın Erensoy came out of the goal and Elia Strano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fausto Rosetta during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Santoryu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Rosetta to maneuver through the defense. Yalçın Erensoy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Nero in the 23rd minute of the match. Elia Strano hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Ercole Carnevale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hulki Zaid in the 25th minute of play. In the 26th minute Newells Old Boys were awarded a corner. Enis Behiç Paker went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Newells Old Boys's corner Enis Behiç Paker fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ercole Carnevale quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dennis Nero in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yalçın Erensoy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kenny N'Diaye blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ercole Carnevale having to make a save. Hulki Zaid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Santoryu FC booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enis Behiç Paker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Newells Old Boys's Yalçın Erensoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Nero in the 36th minute of play. Hulki Zaid recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 38 played minutes Santoryu FC got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Rosetta. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodoro Chale stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kenny N'Diaye's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ercole Carnevale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Yalçın Erensoy came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Santoryu FC's Dennis Nero. But to his dismay, Dennis Nero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Enis Behiç Paker got a free kick in the 66th minute. Santoryu FC's Andrea Muciaccia was substituted for Elia Strano. In the 68th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enis Behiç Paker to maneuver through the defense. Yalçın Erensoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodoro Chale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Hulki Zaid. Santoryu FC's Franco Montagna was substituted for Dennis Nero. Hulki Zaid kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Cesare Romano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Yalçın Erensoy made a huge save. Newells Old Boys's Yalçın Erensoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Chale in the 82nd minute of play. Başaran Tuncay hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Franco Montagna kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yalçın Erensoy. That made the score 0-3 in the 87 minute of play. Yalçın Erensoy was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Cesare Romano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cesare Romano really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. In the 95th match minute, Newells Old Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dirk Kuijt to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the match, Andrea Muciaccia sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Yalçın Erensoy threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Andrea Muciaccia this time. When the match was over Santoryu FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Newells Old Boys throughout the match.
