Sporting de Gijón's Ademar Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sven Scheffler's late challenge caught a Sporting de Gijón's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven Scheffler helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Estudiantes de la Plata getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Sven Scheffler hit a great ball. Matias Bilintx took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victorino Bartuelo. Victorino Bartuelo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Matias Bilintx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Victorino Bartuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute, Denis Bonadona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting de Gijón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Dalmacio Cordaro hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Matias Bilintx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Victorino Bartuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Bartuelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de la Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Victorino Bartuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 邵鹏林 hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademar Rocha in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victorino Bartuelo saved Estudiantes de la Plata from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The wind increased when Matias Bilintx made the kick off in the second half. Denis Bonadona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Victorino Bartuelo made a huge save. With a little luck, Estudiantes de la Plata's Victorino Bartuelo got control of the ball when Diego Maradona tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 57th minute Saturnino Curcio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Bartuelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Matias Bilintx put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Victorino Bartuelo. In the 70th minute, Dalmacio Cordaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the game, Matias Bilintx recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Victorino Bartuelo. Matias Bilintx showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. Victorino Bartuelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Curcio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victorino Bartuelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Rocha in the 76th minute of the match. Sporting de Gijón played a much better game than Estudiantes de la Plata and deserved their victory. The Estudiantes de la Plata players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
