Kerry Sellers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Lundgren having to interfere. After some careless play in the Benknotorna defense, Sidney Forbes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Lundgren. The Benknotorna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Lundgren should have stopped the shot. In the 8th match minute, Benknotorna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lakis Mendrinos to maneuver through the defense. C. A. Independiente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eric Snowden in the 11th minute. C. A. Independiente's Eric Snowden was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Peter Lundgren in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Kerry Sellers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Kerry Sellers managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Kerry Sellers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Lundgren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kerry Sellers took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peter Lundgren. Peter Lundgren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Kerry Sellers sped through Benknotorna's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peter Lundgren. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo Trullols in the 26th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 27th minute of the match. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Lundgren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. Peter Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Peter Lundgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kerry Sellers in the 31st minute. Kerry Sellers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Lundgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. C. A. Independiente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eric Snowden in the 33rd minute. The corner ended in Eric Snowden almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Benknotorna's Peter Lundgren did a great save. The supporters of Benknotorna booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Qiu Fan Ran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidney Forbes struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Peter Lundgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. A. Independiente. Peter Lundgren had in the 42ndth minute some difficulties stopping Tommie Bolton's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Peter Lundgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfredo Felder in the 43rd minute. Kerry Sellers charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kerry Sellers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Peter Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Sellers in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tommie Bolton made a kick off. Kerry Sellers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 53rd minute of play forced Benknotorna's goalkeeper Peter Lundgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerry Sellers in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter Lundgren saved Benknotorna from getting behind. Peter Lundgren didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-0 in the ordered_time% minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 65th minute of play forced Benknotorna's goalkeeper Peter Lundgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Tommie Bolton made a precise shot to the right of Peter Lundgren. Benknotorna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. In the 70th minute, Kerry Sellers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C. A. Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 75th minute Kerry Sellers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo Felder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Peter Lundgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Kerry Sellers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kerry Sellers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Peter Lundgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Peter Lundgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kerry Sellers's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Kerry Sellers put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Peter Lundgren. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Erberk Müftüoğlu got a free kick in the 94th minute. C. A. Independiente's attentive Erberk Müftüoğlu managed to snatch the ball when Lakis Mendrinos made a throw-in in the 96th minute of the game.
