A collision led to Fuerzas Armadas getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Xerardo Amer hit a great ball. After 15 minutes, Ettore Placidi made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Coronel Ortega hit a great ball. The supporters of Glasgow Rangers FC booed when Fuerzas Armadas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Buendia took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dave Clemente. Dave Clemente dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Dave Clemente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnin Acarreta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eufrasio Aranzubia hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Natalucci got free with García Morales in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fuerzas Armadas's García Morales proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Fuerzas Armadas from getting a goal against them. Dave Clemente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnin Acarreta in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Buendia to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Ettore Placidi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but García Morales was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Ettore Placidi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without García Morales having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, Fuerzas Armadas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quinto Nobo to maneuver through the defense. After 81 played minutes, Glasgow Rangers FC's Antonio Mastrocola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper García Morales came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Glasgow Rangers FC reached it. After a rather tough play, Fuerzas Armadas's Quinto Nobo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Antonio Mastrocola was slow to take the kick. During this time Glasgow Rangers FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Nestor Lauaxeta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this García Morales quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Mikel Casals hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Glasgow Rangers FC were the better team. Glasgow Rangers FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
