Kristoffer Salqvist's late challenge caught a Athletico Picapedrense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristoffer Salqvist helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Athletico Picapedrense booed when Darkwing Ducks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristoffer Salqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Søren Kvols came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Athletico Picapedrense's Hristo Stoichkov. But to his dismay, Hristo Stoichkov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emil Turek in the 23rd minute of play forced Athletico Picapedrense's goalkeeper Jesus Sayveon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horaţiu Crăiță charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Horaţiu Crăiță the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jesus Sayveon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hassan Wiemert in the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th match minute, Athletico Picapedrense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloi Fontanella to maneuver through the defense. Søren Kvols made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horaţiu Crăiță in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Darkwing Ducks's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Juanito Gabucio was slow to take the kick. During this time Athletico Picapedrense's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Athletico Picapedrense's corner Juanito Gabucio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Søren Kvols quite easily take care of the ball. When Darkwing Ducks's Hassan Wiemert in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Athletico Picapedrense's goalie prevented a goal. In the 46th match minute, Darkwing Ducks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Joneschat to maneuver through the defense. Juanito Gabucio might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Søren Kvols. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juanito Gabucio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 49th minute, Geoffrey Dutton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Darkwing Ducks's Roberto-Carlos da Silva got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Hassan Wiemert came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jesus Sayveon could save by the left post. In the 60th minute Darkwing Ducks were awarded a corner. Hassan Wiemert went to the cornerflag to take it. Geoffrey Dutton thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jesus Sayveon, a very annoying self made goal in the 60th minute which led to 1-1. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Emil Turek put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jesus Sayveon. In the last second Jesus Sayveon throw himself and got hold of the ball when Emil Turek in the 69thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 72nd minute Coronel Ribas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Søren Kvols saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Søren Kvols didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Coronel Ribas went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 77 minutes into the game, Eloi Fontanella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Søren Kvols was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Darkwing Ducks's Søren Kvols played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloi Fontanella in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Corrado Coletti in the 88th minute of play forced Athletico Picapedrense's goalkeeper Jesus Sayveon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eloi Fontanella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eloi Fontanella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Søren Kvols having to interfere. In the 97th minute Eloi Fontanella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Søren Kvols saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Athletico Picapedrense players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
