Colon Manrique showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Confesor, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 15th match minute, Atlético Ourense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Euloxu Bermudez to maneuver through the defense. Colon Manrique took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Confesor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Unai Calatayud in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cecilio Jax prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute San Martin de Tucuman were awarded a corner. Paulino Lamberto went to the cornerflag to take it. Justino Confesor did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Colon Manrique 31 minutes into the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Unai Calatayud managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Ourense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Unai Calatayud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atlético Ourense's Unai Calatayud got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justino Confesor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Eriberto Osasun threw the ball into play from the sideline. Atlético Ourense's Enrico Carmona quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Gilen in the 46th minute of play forced Atlético Ourense's goalkeeper Colon Manrique to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Severino Elorri replaced Paulo Gilen. With a little luck, San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax got control of the ball when Unai Calatayud tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ubaldo Veto hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Paulino Lamberto put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Colon Manrique. San Martin de Tucuman's Ted Nagel was substituted for 梅笑适. In the 95th minute, Marcos Odín hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
