Robert Kaczanka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Tiniebra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Justo Muno notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Wyszyny's Robert Kaczanka. Robert Kaczanka was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Wyszyny getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Kajetan Turek hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, ATLETICO MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Mindykowski came free, but Václav Filipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Ryszard Mindykowski took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Václav Filipi to make any attempt to save it. Václav Filipi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryszard Mindykowski in the 55th minute of play. Wyszyny's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacek Kocieniewski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Václav Filipi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Václav Filipi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ryszard Mindykowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The ATLETICO MENDOZA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ATLETICO MENDOZA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
