The Bigode Grosso fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Bigode Grosso's Tato Vega looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 35th minute, Alain Vandam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bigode Grosso's Lando Norin got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulan Bator Football Club's Erwin Tobbackers quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Silvinho da Silveira, made in the 39th minute of the game. Erwin Tobbackers scored 1-2 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gualterio Tavio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ulan Bator Football Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
