An unexpectedly hard shot by Saffet Müjdat in the 21st minute of play forced GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR's goalkeeper Rıza Vuralhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saffet Müjdat might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rıza Vuralhan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saffet Müjdat ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute Şener Atabek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabahattin Onurhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half GeNÇ ÇoTaNaKLaR were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Şener Atabek was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Şener Atabek's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sabahattin Onurhan was relentless in the 68th minute of the game.
