Percy Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermínio Bomba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th minute of the match Valadas got a corner. Scragbadun FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hermínio Bomba ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Valadas's corner Hermínio Bomba fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Percy Paiva quite easily take care of the ball. Hermínio Bomba struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Percy Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valadas. Scragbadun FC's Percy Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Scragbadun FC from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute Tomé Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerd-Peter Meiswinkel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scragbadun FC's Percy Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Scragbadun FC from getting a goal against them. Percy Paiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermínio Bomba in the 21st minute. 25 minutes into the match, Ingvar Wallin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerd-Peter Meiswinkel. Valadas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ingvar Wallin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Hermínio Bomba who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Percy Paiva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Percy Paiva stood somewhat misplaced when Hermínio Bomba came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 28 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Zachemski in the 34th minute of play forced Valadas's goalkeeper Gerd-Peter Meiswinkel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Bomba in the 41st minute of play forced Scragbadun FC's goalkeeper Percy Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percy Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermínio Bomba's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Hermínio Bomba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valadas's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermínio Bomba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 47 minutes, Tomé Araújo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Scragbadun FC and the Valadas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Valadas's Normando Severo was substituted for Manuel Valido.
An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Bomba in the 57th minute of play forced Scragbadun FC's goalkeeper Percy Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Humberto Lencastre sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Percy Paiva skillfully saved the ball. Percy Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Bomba in the 66th minute of the match. Ricardo Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Percy Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Scragbadun FC's Martti Kukkur suffered a sore thigh after 69 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matias Conde during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reinaldo Severo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerd-Peter Meiswinkel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After some careless play in the Scragbadun FC defense, Hermínio Bomba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Percy Paiva. The Scragbadun FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Percy Paiva should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Valadas's Patrício Curado got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 96th minute, Waldemar Zachemski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 98th minute Laércio Valverde shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Valadas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Scragbadun FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
