The audience thought a goal was coming when Remigio James got free with Alfredo Alagoano in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 19th play minute Almir Lago came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alfredo Alagoano. 4-0. Rockets's Alfredo Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Scarpa in the 23rd minute of play. Alfredo Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio James, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rockets's Alfredo Alagoano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Rockets from getting a goal against them. Remigio James took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredo Alagoano. Alfredo Alagoano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remigio James in the 53rd minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Alfredo Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Maria Fernandes hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Rockets defense, José Pedro Xavier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredo Alagoano. The Rockets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredo Alagoano should have stopped the shot. The supporters of São Miguel do Oeste.SC booed when Rockets was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Pedro de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute of the match Almir Lago shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredo Alagoano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 64th minute, Toninho do Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. If Davide Barone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Alves in the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the game, Dorival Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rockets's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Miguel do Oeste.SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Rockets's Dorival Bittencourt got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute Almir Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When João Pedro de Senna fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rockets's protests and gave João Pedro de Senna a yellow card for diving instead.
