Dean Grieve was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabian Katia made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Ekialde Nadal sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Cipriano Ganix managed to get in a good position for a shot. PERSPOLIS's supporters rose to their feet, but Cipriano Ganix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Katia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Go Vegan booed when PERSPOLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Ganix didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th match minute, Go Vegan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aristides Norino to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Go Vegan booed when PERSPOLIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bela Herrero didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Reynaldo Bernad to make the kick off. When Erasto Idiaquez came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the PERSPOLIS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasto Idiaquez couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that PERSPOLIS were the better team. PERSPOLIS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
