The crowd rose to their feet as Manuel Porto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dino Zoff. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. Dino Zoff came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Clube de Gaya's Manuel Porto. But to his dismay, Manuel Porto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Carter Suriani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Trubin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carter Suriani in the 17th minute of the match. With a little luck, Real Matrei FC's Dino Zoff got control of the ball when Li Shi Xiang tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube de Gaya's Li Shi Xiang got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match, Manuel Porto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dino Zoff saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Real Matrei FC's zone, Li Shi Xiang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Zoff came out of the goal and Li Shi Xiang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hilário Trindade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Zoff having to interfere. Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carter Suriani in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Real Matrei FC's Raul Evis got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Manuel Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Zoff having to interfere. In the 45thth minute of the game Carter Suriani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Manuel Porto made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Sporting Clube de Gaya getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Isaac Göransson hit a great ball. Dino Zoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Porto in the 54th minute of the match. In the 57thth minute of the game Manuel Porto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Matrei FC's Dino Zoff was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. António Trubin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carter Suriani, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. António Trubin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carter Suriani in the 63rd minute of the match. Dino Zoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute Sporting Clube de Gaya were awarded a corner. Wilfried Zaha went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 71st match minute, Real Matrei FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Washington Tasso to maneuver through the defense. António Trubin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tycho Scolander in the 74th minute. António Trubin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carter Suriani in the 77th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Sture Eliasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Matrei FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Clube de Gaya the free kick. In the 79th match minute, Real Matrei FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sture Eliasson to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube de Gaya's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Evis came free, but António Trubin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Porto in the 87th minute of play forced Real Matrei FC's goalkeeper Dino Zoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dino Zoff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dino Zoff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Porto in the 90th minute of play. After 94 minutes Sporting Clube de Gaya's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Christian Karlsson who took care of the corner kick. Real Matrei FC's Christian Karlsson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but António Trubin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Sporting Clube de Gaya players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
