Royce Rodriquez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Buckley, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 22nd minute Yngve Andersson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Royce Rodriquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloi Christopher in the 23rd minute of play forced White Eagles FC's goalkeeper Garry Cobb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 played minutes Marshrose got a freekick which was hit by Wilber Padgett. In the 32nd minute Steve Buckley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Royce Rodriquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Marshrose's Eloi Christopher slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Garry Cobb. That made the score 1-1 after 47 minutes of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After a rather tough play, White Eagles FC's Yngve Andersson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Marshrose booed when White Eagles FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yngve Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garry Cobb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charles Griggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Matty Robson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Garry Cobb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloi Christopher in the 74th minute of play. When Simon Heath fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored White Eagles FC's protests and gave Simon Heath a yellow card for diving instead. Steve Buckley's late challenge caught a Marshrose's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garry Cobb didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Derrick Osborne went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Eloi Christopher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Garry Cobb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charles Griggs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
