The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. El Canalla de Chicago's Wilbur Hyde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frederico da Rocha in the 3rd minute of play. In the 15th minute, Emmanuel Lockhart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FIEL F.C.! In the 20th minute there was a penalty for El Canalla de Chicago. Claude Mueller stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Leigh Smith. 0-1. In the 27th minute, Emmanuel Lockhart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 35 played minutes El Canalla de Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Medrano. Joaquim Vilar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Leigh Smith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frederico da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The FIEL F.C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Canalla de Chicago were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim Vilar to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes FIEL F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Vale. Wilbur Hyde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leigh Smith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andreas Sanchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Wilbur Hyde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico da Rocha in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, El Canalla de Chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Leão came free, but Wilbur Hyde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilbur Hyde took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. El Canalla de Chicago made a substitution. Domingo Lopez replaced Tom Adams. After 66 played minutes El Canalla de Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Claude Mueller. FIEL F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Claude Mueller ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Justin Raines heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 86 minutes into the match, El Canalla de Chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Leão came free, but Wilbur Hyde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leigh Smith was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Domingo Lopez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Domingo Lopez really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emmanuel Lockhart got free with Leigh Smith in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. El Canalla de Chicago had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
