In the 27th minute of the match Attard Gunners got a corner. Botafogo AP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Godwin Sapiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 32ndth minute of the game Fritz Ernst Joinvilense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Botafogo AP's Sandro Branco got a free kick in the 35th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fritz Ernst Joinvilense made a kick off. The throw-in from Sandro Branco in the 53rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Attard Gunners's Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Reinaldo Kellogg during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Attard Gunners booed when Botafogo AP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reinaldo Kellogg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergen Sergen in the 55th minute of play. After 56 minutes of play Botafogo AP's Reinaldo Kellogg was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Reinaldo Kellogg hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Sergen Sergen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Pedro Bertassi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. But to his dismay, Alan Said quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Botafogo AP made a substitution. Wiliam Couto replaced Fritz Ernst Joinvilense. Attard Gunners made a substitution. Joshua Sammut Castelletti replaced Noel Buhagiar. After having played for 90 minutes, Joshua Sammut Castelletti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Attard Gunners's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joshua Sammut Castelletti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Attard Gunners were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Botafogo AP for a fine match.
