The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dráusio Madureira hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Mayo's Alexander Bird played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfredo Travassos in the 6th minute of play. In the 8th minute Isaltino Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Bird saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Steve Oliver could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Luís Eduardo Mazza however easily saved by the left post. In the 15thth minute of the game Guido Pagomari who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belo Academy's Luís Eduardo Mazza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Pagomari in the 22nd minute of play forced Belo Academy's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Bird made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráusio Madureira in the 30th minute of play. Luís Eduardo Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Pagomari, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Mayo's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Dantas came free, but Alexander Bird reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Yuri Dias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Belo Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mayo the free kick. In the 45th match minute, Belo Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Dias to maneuver through the defense. Luís Eduardo Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Pagomari in the 47th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Alfredo Miliano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guido Pagomari to make the kick off. A hard shot 55 in the game by Isaltino Dantas from a close distance when the talented Alexander Bird managed to make a qualified save. Mayo's players were relieved. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manfredo Travassos in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Bird saved Mayo from getting behind. A collision led to Mayo getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Steve Oliver hit a great ball. Manfredo Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Samuel Farmer took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Eduardo Mazza. Luís Eduardo Mazza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 66 minutes into the match, Mayo's goalkeeper Alexander Bird had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isaltino Dantas. With his leg Alexander Bird managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Belo Academy's Isaltino Dantas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alexander Bird made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isaltino Dantas in the 72nd minute. Luís Eduardo Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Pagomari, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Des Gill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexander Bird made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Isaltino Dantas sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Belo Academy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mayo.
