Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Sterescu could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Waut Van Der Meeren however easily saved by the left post. Anversa Club's Winarto Songgonau got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Augustin Bălăiță took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reiner Fallas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anversa Club's Edmílson Santos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 51st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Augustin Bălăiță but with some difficulty. When Daniel Sterescu came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Gzpn Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Sterescu couldn't finish the play.
