Caxias do Sul. Dagoberto Esteves stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Farid Mondragón. 1-1. Rui da Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Luizão Prata the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Luizão Prata had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of MILAN COLOMBIANO booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position.
