In the 4th minute of the match, Ceferino Dimo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bruno Lanckneus saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Internacional's Bruno Lanckneus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Herensuge in the 10th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Michel Faria in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vinicio Gau saved Despidida AFC from getting behind. A collision led to Despidida AFC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Elpidio Jorrin hit a great ball. Internacional's Michel Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Roberto Herensuge fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Despidida AFC's protests and gave Roberto Herensuge a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Internacional booed when Despidida AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Herensuge didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Despidida AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Benigno Felipillo hit a great ball. Bruno Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Dimo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After 31 played minutes Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Michel Faria. In the 35th minute, Luan Netto made a precise shot to the right of Vinicio Gau. Despidida AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Bruno Lanckneus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ceferino Dimo in the 39th minute of the match. Bruno Lanckneus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ceferino Dimo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. In the 47th match minute, Despidida AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnoldo Iyan to maneuver through the defense. Luan Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Vinicio Gau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Herensuge made a kick off. Osvaldinho Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luan Netto came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vinicio Gau could save by the left post. Vinicio Gau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Vidal in the 63rd minute of play. Ceferino Dimo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Lanckneus having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Despidida AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Leal came free, but Vinicio Gau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceferino Dimo in the 69th minute of play forced Internacional's goalkeeper Bruno Lanckneus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-2 became the score in the 71st minute when Michel Faria elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Internacional's zone, Ceferino Dimo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Lanckneus came out of the goal and Ceferino Dimo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th match minute, Internacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Brito to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Lanckneus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Dimo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Internacional's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
