Adrogue FC's Gavino Afonso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Juan Pablo Angels short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Zézinho Simões to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adrogue FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nestor Chucho in the 13th minute. Gavino Afonso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Adrogue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Freitas came free, but Gavino Afonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zézinho Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Gallardo in the 18th minute of play. If Inácio Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. After the first half MarquinhosEC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marcelo Gallardo to strike the kick off in the second half. MarquinhosEC's Zézinho Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Pablo Angel in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Mark Kovalev got a free kick in the 61st minute. Mark Kovalev kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Pablo Angel came free, but Zézinho Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gavino Afonso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the MarquinhosEC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
