After a rather tough play, -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Aurel Mustea got a free kick in the 9th minute. Nae Costin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurel Mustea in the 15th minute of the match. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Gelu Bădoi got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gelu Bădoi in the 17th minute of play. With a little luck, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin got control of the ball when Liviu Hurmuz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mihnea Vizitiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dacian Erbașu in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when -BZF- Petrolul Berca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remus Jula didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes -BZF- Petrolul Berca got a freekick which was hit by Lucian Itu. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mădălin Nicodim to make the kick off. When Albert Guriță fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s protests and gave Albert Guriță a yellow card for diving instead. Albert Guriță kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Marioara Olaru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nae Costin. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Nae Costin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liviu Hurmuz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
