After 3 played minutes, Minerul Baita -MM-'s Vasile Acalinei shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Octav Hortopan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Minerul Baita -MM- reached it. Corneliu Sântimbrean received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sergiu Cobâlcescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Corneliu Sântimbrean slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Irinel Dobrițoiu during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Irinel Dobrițoiu got a free kick in the 8th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Cosmin Bobeica managed to get in a good position for a shot. Minerul Baita -MM-'s supporters rose to their feet, but Cosmin Bobeica was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octav Hortopan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in -BZF- Fc Gheraseni fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Minerul Baita -MM- a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vasile Acalinei, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Octav Hortopan. 1-1. In the 27th minute, Dudu Georgescu made a precise shot to the right of Octav Hortopan. -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Cezar Bărnuțiu succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. 37 minutes into the match, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's goal looked a bit too open when Dudu Georgescu came free, but Octav Hortopan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cezar Bărnuțiu came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Minerul Baita -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezar Bărnuțiu couldn't finish the play. Octav Hortopan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dudu Georgescu in the 41st minute of the match. Aurelian Acalinei received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sergiu Cobâlcescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Aurelian Acalinei slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 42nd minute. Aurelian Acalinei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cosmin Bobeica to make the kick off. If Aurelian Acalinei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes into the game, Iordache Nica was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minerul Baita -MM- the free kick. In the 56th minute, Iordache Nica hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Iordache Nica got a free kick in the 57th minute. -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's Octav Hortopan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Mandache in the 61st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nae Mihăescu during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Nae Mihăescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Minerul Baita -MM-'s Sergiu Cobâlcescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Levițchi in the 74th minute of play. Vasile Acalinei kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Iordache Nica notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Minerul Baita -MM-'s Sergiu Cobâlcescu. Sergiu Cobâlcescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cezar Bărnuțiu got free with Octav Hortopan in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 91 minutes into the match, -BZF- Fc Gheraseni's goalkeeper Octav Hortopan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nicolae Mandache. Dudu Georgescu hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
