When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Victoriano Estevez sped through Trapiche's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santiago Meckel. Nicolas Kiliz was a little too slow when Leon Norino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Trapiche's zone, Victoriano Estevez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Meckel came out of the goal and Victoriano Estevez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 22 played minutes Maravilla got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Cedro. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The supporters of Maravilla booed when Trapiche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Norino didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Paulus Van Poucke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Norino in the 90th minute of play forced Maravilla's goalkeeper Nicolas Kiliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Juan Ramalho in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nicolas Kiliz saved Maravilla from getting behind. Santiago Meckel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Estevez in the 93rd minute of the match. The supporters of Trapiche booed when Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Cedro didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Maravilla walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
