The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD Municipal's goalkeeper George Forsyth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. C.A.Esparta's attentive Froilan Nerio managed to snatch the ball when Federico Puja made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Evelio Salvadore didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrique Cassaretto went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sven-Hendrik Ohmer might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Forsyth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sven-Hendrik Ohmer ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the match, CD Municipal's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Hendrik Ohmer came free, but George Forsyth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C.A.Esparta's Evelio Salvadore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 21st minute of play. In the 26thth minute of the game Enrique Cassaretto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A.Esparta's Evelio Salvadore was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute, Enrique Cassaretto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CD Municipal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Enrique Cassaretto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Evelio Salvadore having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 33rd minute of play forced C.A.Esparta's goalkeeper Evelio Salvadore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A.Esparta's Evelio Salvadore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 47th minute of play. The C.A.Esparta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CD Municipal were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enrique Cassaretto to make the kick off. With a little luck, C.A.Esparta's Evelio Salvadore got control of the ball when Enrique Cassaretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Evelio Salvadore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iacob Roman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Enrique Cassaretto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Evelio Salvadore. That made the score 0-3 in the 70 minute of play. CD Municipal's Ryota Miyagi was substituted for Enrique Cassaretto. Evelio Salvadore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ryota Miyagi in the 79th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the game Iacob Roman made a throw-in which Ryota Miyagi played forward. Natalio Etxekopar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. The supporters of CD Municipal booed when C.A.Esparta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Etxekopar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oalo Dean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Evelio Salvadore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
