Papilio's Ivan Västlund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Carneiro in the 37th minute of play. Espigão Steamrollers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Papilio the free kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Hannes Lundin made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ángel Romero got free with Ivan Västlund in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Espigão Steamrollers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ángel Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yuri Paranaense came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ivan Västlund could save by the left post. With a little luck, Papilio's Ivan Västlund got control of the ball when Yuri Paranaense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ángel Romero hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ángel Romero got free with Ivan Västlund in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Yuri Paranaense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espigão Steamrollers's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuri Paranaense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Västlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Yuri Paranaense left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Espigão Steamrollers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Papilio's Ivan Västlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Papilio from getting a goal against them. Yuri Paranaense had several of the Papilio's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 86 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Ivan Västlund as he didn't even see the shot coming. After some careless play in the Papilio defense, Yuri Paranaense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivan Västlund. The Papilio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivan Västlund should have stopped the shot. Espigão Steamrollers's Ángel Romero got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Espigão Steamrollers played a much better game than Papilio and deserved their victory. The Papilio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
