In the 6th minute, Manfredo Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baraja Española FC's Gregorio Tanio was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 8th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Róbson Netto was a little too slow when Gregorio Tanio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregorio Tanio in the 19th minute of play forced Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper Róbson Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Baraja Española FC's Gregorio Tanio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. If László Illés had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Gregorio Tanio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Róbson Netto, 4-0. Gregorio Tanio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Róbson Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baraja Española FC's Eriberto Iratxo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Róbson Netto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benigno Indalecio got free with Róbson Netto in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. László Illés received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Róbson Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some careless play in the Atlético Mineiro defense, Benigno Indalecio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Róbson Netto. The Atlético Mineiro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Róbson Netto should have stopped the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 63 minutes into the game, when Marcelinho Madureira put in a rough tackle. 62 minutes into the game, one of Atlético Mineiro:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. László Illés fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Netto having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Reynaldo Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Mineiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Reynaldo Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho Pimenta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If László Illés had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. Róbson Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Iratxo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The Baraja Española FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Atlético Mineiro's Róbson Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Iratxo in the 83rd minute of play. Róbson Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorio Tanio in the 88th minute of play. When Benigno Indalecio came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Baraja Española FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benigno Indalecio couldn't finish the play. After having played for 93 minutes, Gregorio Tanio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baraja Española FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gregorio Tanio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Indalecio came free, but Róbson Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benigno Indalecio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Baraja Española FC had played much better football throughout.
