Borislav Tvrdić started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Stiinta-Univ. booed when --Sibenik-- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oton Ćosić didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, --Sibenik--'s Alen Kovič got control of the ball when Horaţiu Ştefulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of --Sibenik-- booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horaţiu Ştefulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boro Višić took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bogdan Lobonț. Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stelian Blidaru to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, --Sibenik--'s Antun Bunić got a free kick in the 25th minute. Horaţiu Ştefulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Alen Kovič made a huge save. After a rather tough play, --Sibenik--'s Domagoj Kovič got a free kick in the 31st minute. Alen Kovič was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Matei Onaca showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 38 minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Matei Onaca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but --Sibenik--'s Alen Kovič was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Horaţiu Ştefulescu got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matei Onaca to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Onaca in the 61st minute of play forced --Sibenik--'s goalkeeper Alen Kovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antun Bunić's late challenge caught a Stiinta-Univ.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matei Onaca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alen Kovič having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Stiinta-Univ. got a freekick which was hit by Horaţiu Ştefulescu. Antun Bunić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Bogdan Lobonț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Ştefulescu in the 82nd minute of play forced --Sibenik--'s goalkeeper Alen Kovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alen Kovič made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Ştefulescu in the 87th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Traian Lupescu got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Antun Bunić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matei Onaca in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alen Kovič saved --Sibenik-- from getting behind. --Sibenik--'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
