The supporters of --Sibenik-- booed when Leões do Sul 53 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edinho Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Borislav Tvrdić in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Leões do Sul 53's goal looked a bit too open when Antun Bunić came free, but Edinho Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 11 minutes, Gilmar Baiano made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. --Sibenik--'s Alen Kovič tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alen Kovič took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilmar Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute of the match Leões do Sul 53 got a corner. --Sibenik--'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gradimir Venturin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Edinho Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilmar Baiano took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alen Kovič. Alen Kovič dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Leões do Sul 53's Rogério Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lauro Cearense was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 58 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Leões do Sul 53 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! Edinho Camargo had in the 59thth minute some difficulties stopping Borislav Tvrdić's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Gradimir Venturin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antun Bunić got free with Edinho Camargo in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute, Gilmar Baiano made a precise shot to the right of Alen Kovič. --Sibenik--'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Antun Bunić didn't have the luck on his side when he, from a short distance, got a opportunity for a shot on goal in the 88th minute. The shot missed the goal on the right side and Antun Bunić ran dejectedly back to his position. When Antun Bunić fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored --Sibenik--'s protests and gave Antun Bunić a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes --Sibenik-- got a freekick which was hit by Antun Bunić. Rogério Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute Borislav Tvrdić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Leões do Sul 53 had won after a very even match.
