An unexpectedly hard shot by Müfit Tolgahan in the 4th minute of play forced Catarinense F.C.'s goalkeeper Benicio Gaitan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Catarinense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alemdar Yalçın came free, but Benicio Gaitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Mecnun Başer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benicio Gaitan was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. After 7 played minutes Catarinense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Robustiano Calixto. Benicio Gaitan came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Samsunspor's Müfit Tolgahan. But to his dismay, Müfit Tolgahan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Benicio Gaitan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Şafak Şeref, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Catarinense F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Yağızhan Acıbadem came free, but Benicio Gaitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Samsunspor's goalkeeper Şafak Semih, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benicio Gaitan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mecnun Başer in the 22nd minute of the match. Şafak Şeref struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Benicio Gaitan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samsunspor. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor's Şafak Şeref got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute Şafak Şeref shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Gaitan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Samsunspor booed when Catarinense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Quintyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Müfit Tolgahan took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benicio Gaitan. Benicio Gaitan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Diego Emmanuel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Şafak Semih came out and tried to block the shot, but Diego Emmanuel slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 37th minute. After some careless play in the Catarinense F.C. defense, Müfit Tolgahan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benicio Gaitan. The Catarinense F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benicio Gaitan should have stopped the shot. Benicio Gaitan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Müfit Tolgahan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Tadzio made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Diego Emmanuel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mecnun Başer in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benicio Gaitan saved Catarinense F.C. from getting behind. Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Catarinense F.C. from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Samsunspor's Müfit Tolgahan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benicio Gaitan. That made the score 1-4 after 57 minutes of play. Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yağızhan Acıbadem in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Catarinense F.C.'s Robustiano Calixto got a free kick in the 66th minute. Yağızhan Acıbadem hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Şafak Şeref hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 76 minutes into the match, Mecnun Başer notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Catarinense F.C.'s Benicio Gaitan. Benicio Gaitan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 80 minutes into the game, Samsunspor's Müfit Tolgahan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benicio Gaitan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. 84 minutes into the game, Adolfo Ipar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catarinense F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Samsunspor the free kick. After 84 played minutes Catarinense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Ipar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Şafak Şeref got free with Benicio Gaitan in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Samsunspor's Müfit Tolgahan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benicio Gaitan. That made the score 1-7 after 88 minutes of play. Benicio Gaitan was a little too slow when Mecnun Başer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 1-8. The Samsunspor players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
