Eleazar Coello showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a little luck, Caneleiros FC's Marcus Dias got control of the ball when Eleazar Coello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcus Dias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brion Bermejo in the 15th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Marcus Dias successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arnau Bargas hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Clóvis Oliveira hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Arnulfo Casas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmílson Maciel in the 27th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Eleazar Coello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caneleiros FC's Marcus Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Figueres in the 37th minute of play. Marcus Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Figueres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Abel Figueres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Dias was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. After 41 played minutes Universitario de deportes got a freekick which was hit by Federico Guijarro. 43 minutes into the match, Universitario de deportes's goal looked a bit too open when Teodoro Carioca came free, but Arnulfo Casas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcus Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brion Bermejo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 minutes, Tony Valladares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caneleiros FC and the Universitario de deportes players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th match minute, Caneleiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Valladares to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmílson Maciel in the 47th minute of play forced Universitario de deportes's goalkeeper Arnulfo Casas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When Ronaldão de Barros fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caneleiros FC's protests and gave Ronaldão de Barros a yellow card for diving instead. 53 minutes into the game, one of Caneleiros FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 58 minutes into the match, Caneleiros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Figueres came free, but Marcus Dias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcus Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Figueres in the 62nd minute of play. Abel Figueres hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After 72 played minutes Universitario de deportes got a freekick which was hit by Prudencio Ortiz. After 75 played minutes Caneleiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Oliveira. Universitario de deportes's Jeremias Herrero got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brion Bermejo in the 78th minute of play forced Caneleiros FC's goalkeeper Marcus Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Caneleiros FC's Sérgio Dias got a free kick in the 79th minute. When Brion Bermejo came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Universitario de deportes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brion Bermejo couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute Abel Figueres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eleazar Coello hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
