The audience thought a goal was coming when Chang Ceballos got free with Roque Felipillo in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the match, Club Universidad Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Chang Ceballos came free, but Roque Felipillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roque Felipillo made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Chang Ceballos sent off a good shot on target. Carmelo Feliz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tito Pompei hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Leonides Ofelio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaldo Mede. Lengua de Lobo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Ofelio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Arnaldo Mede showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmelo Feliz in the 41st minute of the match. Nicolas Burdisso kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Club Universidad Nacional's Carmelo Feliz took a good shot, in the 43rd minute, which hit the crossbar above Arnaldo Mede's head, and flew over the goal. Lengua de Lobo's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Club Universidad Nacional. Roque Felipillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chang Ceballos in the 45th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcus Rashford made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Carmelo Feliz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Universidad Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Thanks to some nice moves Leonides Ofelio could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Arnaldo Mede however easily saved by the left post. After 57 minutes, Leonides Ofelio made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Lengua de Lobo's Arnaldo Mede tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Lengua de Lobo getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Chang Ceballos hit a great ball. With a little luck, Lengua de Lobo's Arnaldo Mede got control of the ball when Leonides Ofelio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Club Universidad Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Rashford came free, but Roque Felipillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Epifanio Velasco showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Club Universidad Nacional's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
