Spectators: 7632 (Terracing: 5725, Seating: 1755, VIP seats: 152) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Keanu Sawyer kicked off to start the match. 2 minutes into the game, Calvin Armitage was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Death Ducks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sydney FC the free kick. When Lawrence Banks fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Death Ducks's protests and gave Lawrence Banks a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Real Death Ducks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Banks to maneuver through the defense. Matt Hewitt hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 7 minutes into the match, Real Death Ducks's goalkeeper Anthony Cahill had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Clemens. After 8 played minutes Real Death Ducks got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Haseldine. 12 minutes into the match, Real Death Ducks's goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Reifer came free, but Anthony Cahill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Guy Rothe made a precise shot to the right of Anthony Cahill. Real Death Ducks's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Martyn Bowen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sydney FC's Michael Bremicker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Bowen in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Real Death Ducks booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. August Gieß didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michael Bremicker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keanu Sawyer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Richard Clemens took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anthony Cahill. Anthony Cahill dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. With 33 minutes on the clock, August Gieß commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 33 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by August Gieß. In the 34th minute of the match Ivan Hunter shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Bremicker showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 36th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guy Rothe to maneuver through the defense. Dennis Rzepka charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dennis Rzepka the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Dennis Rzepka got a free kick in the 40th minute.

Richard Clemens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anthony Cahill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Clemens in the 58th minute of play. Will Cutts kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Henrik Reifer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Guy Rothe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Clemens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Henrik Reifer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 77 minutes into the game, Henrik Reifer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sydney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Death Ducks the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Dennis Rzepka got a free kick in the 88th minute. Sydney FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
