Spectators: 7503 (Terracing: 5628, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 149) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Marco Overmars made the kick off which started today's match. In the 6th match minute, Clapham Comets F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gogo Llorienzo to maneuver through the defense. Nano Ginev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conan Shields having to interfere. A collision led to THE CLUB getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Nano Ginev hit a great ball. THE CLUB's Francesco Toldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save THE CLUB from getting a goal against them. Edward Hind kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Svetozar Popchev came free, but Conan Shields reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. THE CLUB's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Plamen Oreshkov in the 26th minute. The corner led THE CLUB's Nano Ginev to fire away a dangerous shot which Conan Shields despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Conan Shields came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by THE CLUB's Svetozar Popchev. But to his dismay, Svetozar Popchev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Clapham Comets F.C.'s Edward Hind got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Plamen Oreshkov was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Francesco Toldo made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Fitz Hubbard sent off a good shot on target. THE CLUB's Francesco Toldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save THE CLUB from getting a goal against them. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geoff Ansell in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff Ansell in the 37th minute of play forced THE CLUB's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Ganyo Semerdzhiev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 39 minutes, Marco Overmars managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clapham Comets F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Overmars was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute Fitz Hubbard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Toldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Clapham Comets F.C.'s Edward Hind got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Overmars, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Francesco Toldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Overmars in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geoff Ansell in the 72nd minute of play forced THE CLUB's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Conan Shields had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joško Gvardiol. Conan Shields was a little too slow when Joško Gvardiol got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-2. Ganyo Semerdzhiev kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. The Clapham Comets F.C. manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing THE CLUB to win.
