THE CLUB's Francesco Toldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Overmars in the 15th minute of play. Svetlozar Cholakov did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Conan Shields 16 minutes into the match. Sergio Ramos hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Overmars in the 19th minute of the match. With 25 minutes on the clock, Sergio Ramos commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 26 played minutes THE CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Ramos. Marco Overmars, 26 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Overmars in the 30th minute of play forced THE CLUB's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yulian Momkov hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Francesco Toldo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Overmars's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Svetozar Popchev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. THE CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clapham Comets F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, THE CLUB's Svetozar Popchev got a free kick in the 39th minute. Francesco Toldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Ansell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Overmars to strike the kick off in the second half. Conan Shields made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nano Ginev in the 56th minute of play. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Zinchenko in the 61st minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, THE CLUB's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geoff Ansell. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fitz Hubbard, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When THE CLUB's Svetozar Popchev in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 92 minutes of play, THE CLUB's Joško Gvardiol made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conan Shields was left in no man's land by his defense there! The THE CLUB support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
