Carlos Germano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigore Albulescu in the 4th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Berdoi in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mugurel Godeanu saved Champions Iasi from getting behind. Champions Iasi's Mugurel Godeanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Champions Iasi from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Ionică Grădinaru came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Champions Iasi getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Leontin Hâldan hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Ciro Ferdinand got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mugurel Godeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Berdoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edgard Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mugurel Godeanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgard Barros's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Barros in the 30th minute of play forced Champions Iasi's goalkeeper Mugurel Godeanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Basilio Lauren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 33 minutes of play, Club Atlético Atlanta's Marcos Berdoi made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mugurel Godeanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anselmo Nevada during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Anselmo Nevada hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Alexandru Mercescu hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Mugurel Godeanu made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Marcos Berdoi sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Edgard Barros took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Mugurel Godeanu to make any attempt to save it. 43 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Ghimiș came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Mugurel Godeanu came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Atlanta's Anselmo Nevada. But to his dismay, Anselmo Nevada quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Mugurel Godeanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Barros in the 56th minute of play. Mugurel Godeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Nevada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basilio Lauren took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mugurel Godeanu. Mugurel Godeanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 65 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Berdoi came free, but Mugurel Godeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mugurel Godeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Berdoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Atlético Atlanta's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
