The corner led Rebelution's Zacarias Natanael to fire away a dangerous shot which Dida Freire despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. José Ponce took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Freire. Dida Freire dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Dida Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Ponce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goal looked a bit too open when José Ponce came free, but Dida Freire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rebelution's Nestor Cortez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romulo Paraná in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Ponce in the 80th minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Dida Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81stth minute of the game José Ponce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ATHLETICO PRaiano's Dida Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 86 minutes, Amadeu Cardozo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ATHLETICO PRaiano and the Rebelution players grew even worse after the yellow card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rebelution walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
