The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s Caco Couto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Craandijk in the 5th minute of play. Caco Couto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dirk Talsma went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 14th minute Fausto Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurens Oosterman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. De Pelgrims's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Fausto Senna scored to the left of an out of position Laurens Oosterman, making the score, 1-1. In the 18th minute, Tonnie Ter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caco Couto was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. In the 21st match minute, PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Linhares to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Talsma came free, but Caco Couto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes, Rey Puyol mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- and the De Pelgrims players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rey Puyol didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dirk Talsma in the 27th minute of play forced PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s goalkeeper Caco Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The De Pelgrims fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when De Pelgrims's Kurt Ginneken looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elbert Spanjer in the 32nd minute of play forced PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s goalkeeper Caco Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Elbert Spanjer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s Caco Couto didn't even have to move. Caco Couto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Koos Keupink in the 42nd minute of play. Koos Keupink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Koos Keupink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd match minute, PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Velasco to maneuver through the defense. Caco Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Ginneken, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the match, PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s goalkeeper Caco Couto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elbert Spanjer. A collision led to PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Hortêncio Linhares hit a great ball. Caco Couto was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Dirk Talsma capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dirk Talsma really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Kurt Ginneken kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Caco Couto. That made the score 1-5 in the 65 minute of play. PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- made a substitution. Rei Pelé replaced Hortêncio Linhares. In the 72nd minute, Abel Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rei Pelé in the 76th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Laurens Oosterman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Kurt Ginneken kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Caco Couto. That made the score 1-6 in the 82 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dirk Talsma in the 86th minute of play forced PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s goalkeeper Caco Couto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Rei Pelé had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. PRO-BR™ -P.A.B-'s Rey Puyol quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Herman Craandijk, made in the 95th minute of the game. De Pelgrims played a much better game than PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- and deserved their victory. The PRO-BR™ -P.A.B- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
