Miguel-Angel Sanchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antero Rebocho in the 13th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atlético Montserrat's Igor Cilio got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 19th match minute, Stars Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Faria to maneuver through the defense. Atlético Montserrat's Abelardo Handi got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cipriano Vedillo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute of the match Norberto Coimbra sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel-Angel Sanchez skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Stars Academy booed when Atlético Montserrat was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Ted didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Montserrat's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stars Academy the free kick. In the 48th minute, Severo Cutberto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Igor Cilio was the one to do the kick off. After 79 played minutes Stars Academy got a freekick which was hit by Antero Rebocho. Almiro Benevides showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Cilio in the 83rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atlético Montserrat's Gogo Rivero got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute Norberto Coimbra managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Cesar Ted put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Almiro Benevides. Abílio Barata hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Cesar Ted received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Almiro Benevides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atlético Montserrat's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
