Tasso FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Santos Dumont was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theobald Manjon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldir Urbano in the 36th minute of play forced Valle Saron's goalkeeper Theobald Manjon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
