If Sérgio Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to OROTINENSE getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Parvan Hadzhipetkov hit a great ball. Liu Yong Yong didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when America Futebol Clube SP's Luiz Paulo Albuquerque shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Beppe Sarnelli kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Liu Yong Yong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edson Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Sérgio Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liu Yong Yong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Paulo Albuquerque in the 62nd minute of the match.
