When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ciriaco Txatxu sped through Ornopata's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aires Guerris. Aires Guerris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Sarracino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Wiktor Björnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roldan Alzaga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wiktor Björnsson took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eleuterio Romo. Eleuterio Romo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Roldan Alzaga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calisto Belandia struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Eleuterio Romo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ornopata. After a rather tough play, Italia's Denis Seber got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Roldan Alzaga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ornopata fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1.
