An unexpectedly hard shot by Franck Van den Panhuyzen in the 5th minute of play forced Juventus PTM's goalkeeper Mădălin Apostu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juventus PTM's Mădălin Apostu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Juventus PTM from getting a goal against them. Bernard Ryers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernest Comănescu in the 15th minute of the match. Gust Smekens scored 1-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mădălin Apostu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute, Marek Gabor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernard Ryers was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. But to his dismay, Ron Kant quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. With a little luck, Juventus PTM's Mădălin Apostu got control of the ball when Ron Kant tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Marek Gabor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gust Smekens made a kick off. Niculae Turdeanu hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. The supporters of Forza Heppenbach booed when Juventus PTM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marek Gabor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Forza Heppenbach's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gust Smekens in the 55th minute.
