The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Egon Ekblom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan Hendrik Kregel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egon Ekblom in the 11th minute of play forced SCs StarS's goalkeeper Jan Hendrik Kregel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anders Kullgren in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Sten Ekblom ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan Hendrik Kregel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anders Kullgren in the 20th minute of play. Jan Hendrik Kregel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Olof Ahlqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Jan Hendrik Kregel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christer Holm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Christer Holm made a precise shot to the right of Jan Hendrik Kregel. SCs StarS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After 33 played minutes SCs StarS got a freekick which was hit by Sjors Dekkers. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Per-Olof Ahlqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hooligans FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Per-Olof Ahlqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Hendrik Kregel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Anders Kullgren made a precise shot to the right of Jan Hendrik Kregel. SCs StarS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. The supporters of Hooligans FC booed when SCs StarS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sjors Dekkers didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Per-Olof Ahlqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan Hendrik Kregel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anders Kullgren went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Jan Hendrik Kregel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Olof Ahlqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Foeke Waterreus was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel got control of the ball when Per-Olof Ahlqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egon Ekblom got free with Jan Hendrik Kregel in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by SCs StarS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Per-Olof Ahlqvist was slow to take the kick. During this time Hooligans FC's players had a chance to rest. Per-Olof Ahlqvist made a great header on Hooligans FC's corner, it was just that SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel managed to reach the ball for a save. With a little luck, SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel got control of the ball when Per-Olof Ahlqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Hooligans FC's Per-Olof Ahlqvist, in the 61st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Hooligans FC. SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christer Holm in the 63rd minute of play. Jan Hendrik Kregel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anders Kullgren in the 65th minute of play. Sander Roordink hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Egon Ekblom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Hendrik Kregel having to interfere. 69 minutes into the game, Sten Ekblom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hooligans FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SCs StarS the free kick. In the 69th minute, Sten Ekblom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Foeke Waterreus in the 70th minute of play forced Hooligans FC's goalkeeper Melker Beckman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Hendrik Kregel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Ekblom in the 72nd minute of play. Jan Hendrik Kregel came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Hooligans FC's Christer Holm. But to his dismay, Christer Holm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save SCs StarS from getting a goal against them. After 86 minutes, Job Wilhelm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SCs StarS and the Hooligans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th minute, Job Wilhelm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Hooligans FC's Sten Ekblom in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SCs StarS's goalie prevented a goal. SCs StarS's Jan Hendrik Kregel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save SCs StarS from getting a goal against them. Theo Hateboer's late challenge caught a Hooligans FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Theo Hateboer helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes SCs StarS got a freekick which was hit by Theo Hateboer. When the final whistle sounded Hooligans FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SCs StarS.
