The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A hard shot 4 in the game by Rigoberto Vilaprenyo from a close distance when the talented Hercule Couret managed to make a qualified save. Lyon 69ers's players were relieved. 13 minutes into the game, Ma Yong Zhi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RACING FBPA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lyon 69ers the free kick. In the 13th match minute, RACING FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ma Yong Zhi to maneuver through the defense. Aloísio Lendaa took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiaguinho Loyola. Tiaguinho Loyola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 17 minutes into the game, Aloísio Lendaa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tiaguinho Loyola was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of RACING FBPA booed when Lyon 69ers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan Christiaens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Panella struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Hercule Couret didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RACING FBPA. Hercule Couret was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Rigoberto Vilaprenyo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rigoberto Vilaprenyo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. RACING FBPA's Tiaguinho Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aloísio Lendaa in the 29th minute of play. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when RACING FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Panella didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Ovidio Pello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tiaguinho Loyola was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Lyon 69ers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marc Meister in the 34th minute. Reynald Baillou was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 40 minutes into the match, Lyon 69ers's goalkeeper Hercule Couret had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rigoberto Vilaprenyo. 43 minutes into the match, RACING FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Meister came free, but Tiaguinho Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiaguinho Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Lendaa, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Lendaa in the 45th minute of play forced RACING FBPA's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiaguinho Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Pello in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Lyon 69ers were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ovidio Pello in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiaguinho Loyola saved RACING FBPA from getting behind. Hercule Couret showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Vilaprenyo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. RACING FBPA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Armando Panella in the 56th minute. A nice corner shot did that Jorginho Campidelis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hercule Couret quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Lyon 69ers booed when RACING FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaetano Scirea didn't get a good kick on the ball. RACING FBPA made a substitution. Adriano Leite replaced Jorginho Campidelis. Tiaguinho Loyola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aloísio Lendaa in the 82nd minute. RACING FBPA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Marc Meister scored to the left of an out of position Tiaguinho Loyola, making the score, 1-5. Hercule Couret came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by RACING FBPA's Adriano Leite. But to his dismay, Adriano Leite quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. 96 minutes into the match, Lyon 69ers's goal looked a bit too open when David Beckham Jr came free, but Hercule Couret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Lyon 69ers left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than RACING FBPA.
