DALO S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Characate FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, DALO S.C.'s Carlos Ruidio got a free kick in the 11th minute. 11 minutes into the match, DALO S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Santo Romano came free, but Cotera Monar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Xuban Bello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cotera Monar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santo Romano in the 19th minute of play. Cotera Monar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Olentzaro in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by DALO S.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Anselmo Manex was slow to take the kick. During this time Characate FC's players had a chance to rest. Silverio Sanson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Delgadillo in the 33rd minute of play. Anastasio Gauargi's late challenge caught a DALO S.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anastasio Gauargi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Characate FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Anastasio Gauargi hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Characate FC's Dario Olentzaro got a free kick in the 35th minute. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Fausto Respaldizar sped through Characate FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Silverio Sanson. José-Manuel Bacardi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Silverio Sanson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. DALO S.C.'s Cotera Monar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodosio Nuñez in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santo Romano made a kick off. Silverio Sanson came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by DALO S.C.'s Fausto Respaldizar. But to his dismay, Fausto Respaldizar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Olentzaro in the 57th minute of play forced DALO S.C.'s goalkeeper Cotera Monar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute Teodosio Nuñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cotera Monar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silverio Sanson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Respaldizar in the 67th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Characate FC's Santo Romano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cotera Monar. Cotera Monar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodosio Nuñez got free with Cotera Monar in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 86th match minute, Characate FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodosio Nuñez to maneuver through the defense. After 89 minutes, Benedicto Cheche mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Characate FC and the DALO S.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 90 minutes, Zernin Alcega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DALO S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Zernin Alcega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute David Delgadillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silverio Sanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The DALO S.C. players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
