The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Jumentus Rock Club's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Pernambucano came free, but Tomás Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão de Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristóvão de Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tomás Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The audience was convinced that Luís Paulo Pernambucano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tomás Ceresso was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Tomás Ceresso came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by October 04's Luís Paulo Pernambucano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lauro Gaúcho in the 19th minute of play forced Jumentus Rock Club's goalkeeper Tomás Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 minutes Jumentus Rock Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lauro Gaúcho who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Lauro Gaúcho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tomás Ceresso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tomás Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo Pernambucano in the 27th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Angelo Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Narciso Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wágner Sá in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomás Ceresso saved Jumentus Rock Club from getting behind. October 04's Narciso Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor de Souza in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wágner Sá to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wágner Sá in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Ceresso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomás Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. October 04's Narciso Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Arce in the 57th minute of play. Tomás Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wágner Sá in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 65th minute Reinaldo Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldemar de Sena during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 70 played minutes, October 04's Lauro Gaúcho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tomás Ceresso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in October 04 reached it. Tomás Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wágner Sá in the 71st minute of the match. In the 74th match minute, October 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fabiano Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. Narciso Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerson Queiroz in the 75th minute of play. During the 78th minute of the match Waldemar de Sena completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Waldemar de Sena a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 79 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar de Sena. October 04's Narciso Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Queiroz in the 80th minute of play. After 81 played minutes Jumentus Rock Club got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Eduardo Gomes. With an all-out effort, October 04's Tomás Ceresso threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wágner Sá, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Jumentus Rock Club's zone, Tomé Macedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Ceresso came out of the goal and Tomé Macedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wágner Sá kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Narciso Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 91 played minutes October 04 got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Sá. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
